Let’s set the record straight: multitasking isn’t a skill. It’s a productivity killer dressed up as efficiency. 

The title makes a definitive statement—“must” is a strong word. And observing leaders for over thirty years, I know that not all leaders think about what I’m about to tell you about. But all the most effective ones do. That means that if you are serious about being an effective leader, “must” is exactly the right word.

You’ve heard of probable cause. You’ve found root causes for problems. But what is plausible cause and why should we care?

Have you ever listened to children offer alternative ways to solve a problem? They each take turns sharing their thoughts until they lose interest and just move on to another topic. They disagree but never spend too much time dwelling on who wins the argument. 

The first step in building belonging and inclusion is investigating the contours of your workforce.
